The workshop welcomed walk-in registrations from all interested students and staff of the Academy’s B.Arch & M.Arch programs. A moderate turnout of 33 participants attended, where they learned the basic functions of the Rhino 3D software and witnessed a project demonstration using the same. The audience showed enthusiasm and posed questions, which were addressed by the workshop speakers. Additionally, the workshop acquainted many students with this popular software and its applications in 3D visualization for architectural projects.
The Environmental Science club utilized their learning effectively by planting tree saplings in various areas of the campus. Students gained practical experience in preparing the land for sapling growth. They learned to prepare soil mixtures, determine the appropriate depth for root ball placement, and became aware of the environmental conditions essential for plant growth. The event represented successful life skill training and marked a step toward a sustainable future.
The annual lecture series provided an opportunity to engage with influential figures in the architectural community, fostering knowledge sharing and enlightening young minds. The webinar featured a speaker renowned for their environmental consciousness and training at institutes such as Auroville and the Laurie Baker Centre. As the co-founder of Designing The Dimensions (DTD) studio, they advocate for Sustainable & Eco-Friendly Architecture, aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of buildings. The webinar focused on Sustainable Construction—a technological practice emphasizing local manpower and renewable resources—and Alternative Technologies, integral to sustainable construction practices.
The main goal of this program was to inspire architecture educators to deepen students' understanding of the discipline. This, in turn, would support the implementation of pedagogical ideas shared by expert panel speakers.
The objectives of this Faculty Development Program (FDP) were as follows:
